Unlike our conventional mass spectrometer based leak detectors MiniTest is measuring helium partial pressure through the use of a unique quartz window membrane which is selectively permeable. The Helium measurement is done with the help of a cold ion gauge.

Because this leak detector does not use any pumping technology it is super light at only 5kg, mobile and can be considered maintenance free which makes the MiniTest perfect for service applications.

Typical applications include:

Thin film coating systems

Vacuum Furnaces

Industrial valve, chamber, tube and RAC production

Basic vacuum system trouble shooting

Freeze Drying

Measurements at up to 50 mbar

High measurement speed, stability and resolution

Simple system integration

Intuitive user interface

Pfeiffer Vacuum and Scitk are pleased to announce two new gas analysis systems, the Sputter Process Monitor SPM 220 and the High Pressure Analyzer HPA 220.

Both solutions are based on the proven mass spectrometer PrismaPlus in combination with a dry compressing HiPace turbo pumping station and are used to monitor and document vacuum processes, such as coating architectural glass or thin-film solar cells. The SPM 220 as well as the HPA 220 are available in mass ranges of 1-100 and 1-200 amu; the HPA 200 is also available for 1-300 amu.

The Sputter Process Monitor SPM 220 is characterized by a specially developed ion source, which enables a direct connection between the analyzer and the process chamber. This enables the vacuum conditions of sputter processes and similar applications to be monitored at the precise moment up to a pressure of 10-2 mbar. An additional orifice system allows the pressure range to expanded up to 10 mbar.

The High Pressure Analyzer HPA 220 is available, depending on the application conditions, with three different gas inlet valves, both manually and electropneumatically operable. Its modular design impresses with a versatile vacuum solution for gas analysis in the pressure range from high-vacuum to 50 mbar.

The SPM 220 as well as the HPA 220 are equipped with a number of digital and analog inlets and outlets which enable their simple connection to super-ordinate control systems. The newly developed operating software is distinguished with a clearly laid out user interface as well as simple documentation of measurement results. Furthermore, it is possible to modify the software for special process requirements.

SalvisLab Vacucenter is a new generation of vacuum drying ovens for gentle yet fast drying of oxidation-sensitive or thermally instable products. Applications include drying of biological samples, soil samples, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and food samples. Vacuum drying ovens can also be effectively used for drying or vacuum baking of technical products such as electronic or vacuum technology components.

Temperature control is possible from ambient to 200°C with 0.2°C accuracy. Vacuum levels down to 1 mbar are easily possible.

Vacucenter vacuum drying ovens offer safety on all levels. They include a unique pressure safety system with door safety catch and double-glazed safety glass in the door. Heating without vacuum can be deactivated for further sample and user protection. All heaters are automatically switched off when the oven door is opened.

All internal oven surfaces are made out of high-grade stainless steel, which is highly corrosion resistant and easy to clean. The shelves are anodised aluminum for best possible heat transfer.

The integrated process controller leads even inexperienced users through the simple steps of setting the required process parameters. Programming of complex ramps is also possible. Vacucenter ovens use PID and fuzzy logic to control temperature, time and optional vacuum levels. Fifty programs with up to 15 steps and 999 minutes process time can be stored. A bi-directions RS 232C interface allows data-logging. Our optional STS software is CRF 22 Part 11 compliant to ensure GLP, GMP and FDA/TGA conformity.

We offer two models with square box chambers of 20 and 50l volume.

It is well known that the hydrophilicity of surfaces can be increased using plasma technology.

Unfortunately, until now the durability of these treatments has been very limited. However, by using optimized process parameters it has now become possible to guarantee the longevity of these coatings.

One example where this is very important is silicon wafers that are built into instruments which will soon make it possible for patients with vascular occlusion syndromes to be able to conveniently measure their coagulation status at home.

While similar products on the market use optical analytics and different chemical reactions for these tests, these devices are comprised of Micro Electro Mechanical Sensors (MEMS) built into small test strips. The cantilevers on these test strips make it possible to measure the viscosity using the Prothrombin Time Test, using only a small drop of blood. Of vital importance for reliable test values is that the MEMS-device is sufficiently wetted with this drop of blood, but that at the same time it does not completely cover the structured pattern of the MEMS-device. The required hydrophilicity on the surface can only be attained using plasma polyermization processes in low pressure plasma systems, with which coatings between 10 – 30 nm can be applied. Such thin coatings (in the nm range) cannot be achieved using conventional chemical procedures. During the plasma polymerization process, however, such thin hydrophilic polymer coatings are deposited in a Diener low pressure plasma system onto the MEMS surface. Long term tests and analysis have shown that a long lasting contact angle of less than 10° can be achieved with this procedure.
This type of permanent hydrophilic coating, applied using organic precursors and plasma polymerisation in Diener low pressure plasma systems, is also being used to treat medical and hygienic products such as silicone hydrogel contact lenses and non-woven fabrics. The advantage for contact lenses, which are usually made out of hydrophobic materials, is that they can be more easily wetted and have a much longer lifetime after the hydrophilic treatment.

To efficiently coat non-woven fabrics with this type of treatment Diener electronic offers roll to roll plasma systems.

Contact the friendly Scitek team for more detailed information.
