Calorimetry & Thermoanalysis

C80 (CALORIMETRY)

Reaction, isothermal and scanning calorimeter (ambient to 300°C)
Incomparable precision of measurement: the 3D Calvet sensor totally surrounds the sample, and all heat evolved is measured. Now matter how small or large the thermal transformation the system provides a complete picture of the event.
Absolute calibration: with a three-dimensional transducer the sensitivity of the C80 is independent of:

The weight, form and nature (powder, fiber, liquid, etc.) of the sample
Any contact between the sample and the transducer
The type of crucible used
The nature of the sweeping gas (inert, oxidizing, wet) and its flow rate.
Flexibility using the power of the detector, and the wide range of available vessels the C80 calorimeter offers the ability to simulate almost any process condition:

Isothermal calorimeter: the heat measurement is performed at a constant temperature
Scanning calorimeter: the heat measurement is performed during a temperature program
Reaction calorimeter: mixing vessels allow for the simulation of reaction conditions, liquid/liquid, solid/liquid and even gas phase reactions can be measured.
Cp Measurement, liquids, solids and powders
Heats of solution and many more.
Ease of operation: dedicated market leading CALISTO software that is not only intuitive but powerful enough to perform every typical experiments and data treatment.

The added value of 3D sensors

NEW PARTS AND OPTIONS
Vessel for vapors dosing
A specific vessel that allows for connection with a vapors dosing system was designed for the C80. It can withstand pressures as high as 200 bar. The introduction tube of the vessel is heated up to 250 °C with a dedicated thermostated cover to avoid vapor condensation.

HP MICRO DSC (HIGH PRESSURE MICROCALORIMETRY)

Originally designed under a IFP (Institut Français du Petrole) license to study the gas hydrates formation and dissociation, the high pressure version of the μDSC7 evo offers unique capabilities on the market: on a wide temperature range, from the subambient temperature of -45°C up to 120°C, it is possible to carry out high sensitive DSC measurements under high and very high pressure, up to 1000 bars (14 600 psi). Experiments under gas supercritical conditions, such as CO2, are also available.

The high pressure μDSC7 evo comprises three elements:
– the highly sensitive microcalorimeter μDSC7 evo providing a temperature range from -45 up to 120°C,
– a pair of dedicated gas-tight high-pressure cells: they are designed to work up to 400 bars (5800 psi) and to contain 0.5 ml of sample. They are made of Hastelloy C276, which allows the analysis of corrosive fl uids. They can be re-used after a suitable cleaning. Very-high-pressure cells with pressure capabilities up to 1000 bars (14600 psi) are also available on request,
– a specific high pressure gas panel.

SENSYS EVO TG-DSC (SIMULTANEOUS THERMAL ANALYSIS)

An innovative line of Thermal Analyzers (-120 / 830°C) with 3D-Inside technology: DSC, High Pressure DSC, Robot DSC, TG-DSC-coupling to gas analyzer
The HIGHLIGHTS
Differential Scanning Calorimeter

– Incomparable precision: the unique 3D DSC sensor totally surrounds your sample and reference crucibles so that the entire energy of any transformation is monitored thereby giving you an unequalled accuracy of measurement.
– Parameter Independent Calibration: because of the 3D transducer the calibration of SENSYS evo is independent of:
– mass and form (powder, fibre, liquid, etc.) of the sample,
– contact between the sample and the transducer,
– crucible type,
– sweeping gas (inert, oxidizing, reducing, wet, pressure) and flow rate.

Thermogravimetry

– Excellent TG signal baseline: the symmetry of the microbalance, with its sample and reference suspended vertically from the beam guarantee reproducible positioning of the sample over time and excellent stability of the TG signal baseline.

– Automatic compensation of Buoyancy: the sample and the reference are heated inside the same calorimetric block (symmetrical furnace), which means that the buoyancy effect is automatically compensated.

Ease of operation: dedicated market leading CALISTO software that is not only intuitive but powerful enough to perform every typical experiments and data treatment.

NEW PARTS AND OPTIONS
Secondary Vacuum
This solution consists of silica tubing connected to a turbomolecular pump via a computer controlled solenoid valve. The vacuum level is measured by a Pirani gauge and acquired by the software.

Crucible, pierced lid
Aluminum crucibles are available with pierced lids to work in TG-DSC mode, along with silica or inconel tubing options, allowing heat of evaporation measurement. The crucible volume is 90 µL, diameter 4mm and height 11.3mm.

SENSYS evo TGA only
A cost effective SENSYS evo TGA was designed without the standard DSC function. Operation remains between -120 and 830°C.
